Pet shop licensing

Anyone who trades in pets (defined as any vertebrate including fish) must have a pet shop licence. Applications must be accompanied by a licence fee. The fee is reviewed annually.

After we have received an application, we will inspect the premises to ensure animals are kept in suitable conditions and accommodation.

If needed specialist advice will be sought from a veterinary surgeon. Any costs associated with this will be passed on to the applicant.
