Recycling, rubbish and waste

Abandoned Shopping Trolleys

We are working closely with retailers to reduce the number of abandoned shopping trolleys in the city.

We now have the power to fine retailers if we have to collect and store their shopping trolleys. We would much prefer the stores to collect their own dumped trolleys.

Trolley Collection Services have been appointed on a trial basis to pick up trolleys on behalf of the retailers in the city.

The trolley collection company responds to reports from our street cleaning teams and also checks hotspot areas such as East Oxford and Cowley on a daily basis.

How do I report an abandoned shopping trolley?

You can also call Trolley Collection Services directly on 01392 882210 stating the location of the trolley and which company it belongs to.

How long will it take for the trolley to be collected?

Trolleys will normally be collected during the next working day.
