We aim to provide a safe and healthy environment for people to work. Our Health and Safety team enforces legislation in over 1,800 premises and investigates in the region of 100 accidents per year, both to employees and members of the public.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) publish 'free' up-to-date Health and Safety guidance leaflets on many aspects of the workplace and workplace safety.
A joint campaign with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and other District Councils to advise businesses on current issues in Health and Safety has resulted in a special Oxfordshire advice leaflet Be Part of the Solution in Oxfordshire. For health and safety information and advice the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) Infoline is your first point of contact with the HSE. Its a one-stop shop, providing rapid access to the HSE's wealth of health and safety information, and access to expert advice and guidance.
Any enquiry received by HSE Infoline is treated in confidence. If you call, you don't have to give your name. What's important, is that you get the information that you need.
If you are an employer, self-employed or in control of work premises you will have a duty under the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995 (RIDDOR) to report certain accidents or incidents. This can be done on line at the Incident Contact Centre.
