
There is no secret to living a healthy lifestyle. A healthy balanced diet and 30 minutes of moderate intensity exercise, five or more times a week is all you need.
There are 1440 minutes in the day, so why not get healthy and have fun in 30 minutes of them?
Your 30 minutes of exercise does not have to be achieved all in one go, and could be broken down into three 10 minutes sessions for example.
There are a variety of fun and friendly sports and activities across Oxford every day, which will help you to achieve your 30 minutes of exercise.
Being physically active will bring about benefits to both your physical health and mental well being. Examples include; increased energy levels, stronger bones and muscles, weight management and improvements to sleep patterns.
You can achieve your goal of 30 minutes of exercise at least 5 times a week by participating in a range of sports or activities such as dancing, swimming, walking, cycling, visiting the gym, or through organised sports such as hockey, badminton or tennis.

GO Active
GO Active (Get Oxfordshire Active) has been set up to inspire more people aged 16+ in the County, to participate in sport and physical activity.
Each district in the County has there very own Go Active Coordinator who will be out and about to;
- Signpost people towards existing activities
- Find out what new activities people want
- Deliver new and exciting activities
- Provide support for people to get active

YouthZone
Just like adults, it is important that children and young people engage exercise regularly. Government guidelines for children under the age of 16, is to engage in at least 60 minutes of activity at least 5 times per week.

Balanced Diet
In addition to exercise, to maintain a healthy lifestyle it is important that you consume a sensible and balanced diet.
You don't have to give up the things you enjoy to be healthy, but it is important that everything is in moderation. Here are some tips for healthy eating at work, home and when you are out and about:

- Swap sugary snacks for fruit
- Ensure you get your 5 a day of fruit and vegetables
- Swap fizzy drinks for water
